Twinspot wrasse

A characteristic feature of this species is that its coloration changes significantly with age. The base color of juveniles is white, adorned with dark spots on the head, and they also have two false eye spots edged with orange on both sides. Adults are greenish in color, with fins edged in yellow and crimson. A prominent bump develops on the forehead of mature males, intended to signal their strength and sexual maturity to females. Adults are solitary. They are predators, feeding mainly on hard-shelled animals, crabs, clams, and sea urchins.
